The reason they switched is it was difficult to get a good fit with a stem that was the same, except for length. All stems were basically flat. They came up with a fit kit to take System Six to a "normal" setup with normal spacers, etc. It was a big deal to make the System Six stems with varying rises...simpler to change the setup.
