Motobecane used "inexternal" process (perhaps a proprietary one?) for joining tubes on these later bikes. I have a Jubilee Sport which has the same "non-lugged" look. Some sort of internal lug joint, not that pretty. My Jubilee Sport is made from Columbus Cro-Mo.
