Just turn the Allen headed screws to the left to lower the tension. There are two Allen headed screws for adjusting tension per pedal because those pedals are actually two sided SPD pedals. If you loosen the tension on the side that holds the platform in place you can remove the platform (you might need to use a small screwdriver to pry the jaws open) and clip into both sides.
