Doubtful. I can't say much about the parts fitting or not (probably not), but there is a distinct reason you don't see many (read any) road bikes converted to mountain bikes: it's a bad idea. The frame lacks the structural integrity to withstand typical mtb abuse. I wouldn't trust a lugged road frame to hold up too terribly long. Best advice is to watch craigslist and ebay for a used mountain bike.
