I am hoping to start spraying my old peugeot next weekend and, therefore, your help is greatly appreciated.
the can of spray paint SHOULD have directions on the back, it will tell you the suggested drying times.
the PRIMER coat SHOULD be sanded before topcoating with a color coat for best results, so obviously get a SANDABLE PRIMER, and again follow the can directions for how long to let it cure before you can sand it.
use a fine grit when sanding the primer, 320-400 dry usually is about right.
once the sanded primer has been wiped down with windex, and let sit for 30 minutes, you can start shooting the color coats, and then the clear.
REMEMBER these are air dried single component paints, so the thicker you shoot it the longer it'll take to fully harden, and if you just hose the thing down, shoot multiple (un-needed) coats and get the paint TOO thick, it will NEVER harden fully, and you'll get a soft easily chipped paint job.
