hey all..... was a wondeful day to not be on a bike!!!!! awesome to see all the BF'ers and whatnot as always. i can only second Joys and my conversation about people being in WAAAAAYYYY over their heads on saturday. yes, the heat did play a major part in the war of attrition that saturday became, but man....riders were simply not prepared. no spare tubes, no pumps, only one co2 cartridge...just stupid mistakes. a couple of ladies at the start that i sent out were already saying they had no intention of finishing. then at the finish i was there when deb got a call from a lady(maybe one of those two..) asking to be picked up at decker and pch as they were done!!!! treating the organizers like a taxi service!!!! now i know people will say that its PU's obligation to look after the riders, but ata certain point, personal responsibility kicks in. if a CP tells you to turn around and bail, you DO IT!!!!! i had to. a guy who had missed a turn and was coming up to our CP(which was closed, packed up and gone 45 minutes earlier(and we stayed open 45 minutes longer than advertised!!!), weaving all over the road. it took more than a couple of minutes to explain to him that it was IMPOSSIBLE to finish let alone get a sticker or to a CP that would even still be open!!!!! he finally headed back after me telling him multiple times his ride was done for the day.....

end rant, it was still a great day to volunteer and one of these days ill ride this one!!!! ill see you either on the road at heartbreak or from the other side of one of those tables!!!
