And those who have tried have failed miserably in the marketplace, as selling motorcycles is all about image, performance, lifestyle. The last time you had an industry seriously making a practical, economical motorcycle for the guy going to work every day was England - and that market was killed when the Mini came out in 1959. Nowdays, they are primarily toys made to do one job, and boringly going to work every day is not that job.
