True BB, you didn't say throttle or choke, but you did say you grabbed him by the throat; which does sound, to someone not there, a good bit like throttling (to some extent, using force to hold-onto someone with your hand across the front of their throat is likely to limit the their ability to breathe, although it may not involve intent to limit airflow); as opposed to holding someone by the back of their neck, which doesn't sound like throttling at all.
