So why can Garmin get away with this when it comes to a bike GPS device? Competition, or more specifically, a lack thereof. As the sole market entrant into a niche field of bike GPS devices, they can make a reasonable business decision to get away with ridiculous customer abuses like this. It's similar to the way they are forcing people who already own a 305 heartrate strap to buy a second one regardless of which 705 bundle they pick. While it may be profitable for them, that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I am just selling my 305 with all the extra crud from the 705 that I didn't need two of. Obviously it would have been better to include a cadence sensor in the base pack so that you could have 2 bikes set up, but it is hardly a big deal for $30 when you are spending $500 on a bike computer.
