Restoring an Olmo Corsica. The originals axle length was 109 the replacement Shimano cartridge is 107 (BB-UN54 107 36 x 24 70). Being Italian I know that finding the exact axle length you want is not always an option. The problem I have is that to tighten up the non drive side cut requires the cup to go into the bottom bracket exposing the threads on the frame (I can't believe I want to do this). Can I go back to the shop and see if they have other non drive side cups that would protect the threads.
