When it comes to my bike, I don't care how it looks. I only require that it works perfectly. In fact, my road/training/racing bike might be considered as ugly as Hades. No decals anywhere on the frame or fork. No paint anywhere. No chrome adornments. Instead, a black saddle, black cables, black handlebar tape--and whatever bar ends that came with the tape. Not a speck of color, by design, anywhere. (Okay, I did buy tape once that had bar ends with world champion rainbow stripes.)

There is nothing that makes my bike pretty or the least bit flashy. It simply works very well. I will spend many thousands of dollars on functionality, but not one penny on mere style. And that's why I'll not put $8 bar ends on my $7500 bike. YMMV, as usual.
