That's pretty much exactly what we're talking about.

And it's only true at the high end; your Michellin Pro2Race, Veloflex Record, Vittoria Open Corsa CX type tires. And even then, the Vittoria clincher is 1.8w more efficient at 25mph, at the same PSI, than its tubular cousin.

I'll eat the 1.8w and take the weight loss and puncture resistance of tubulars.
