I've created a chainstay protector using seran wrap/ alum foil, until I can get a rubber tube. My chain or my drivetrain has something wrong with it and when I pedal sometimes the chian skips or jumps or makes a small vibe. Dang!
No idea about the pins. But find an old poppd tire and ziptie it to the chainstay. Thats what I did, makes it almost silent. Check to see if you have a stiff link(one like that won't bend around the smaller rollers on the chain tensioner) Do you use any chain lube? How often? Are you using odd chainlines? Biggest-Biggest or smallest-smallest?
