Believe the thermometer. Weather forecasters are notorious for measuring temperatures in places that are unrepresentative of the overall region, and just plain misstating things at other times. Around here in summer it's generally understated by a consistent 3 degrees C most of the time. I think they just don't want the tourists to know how hot it really is.
21 degrees C this morning (and that's for real, and a little warmer than I normally like), smoky because of some stupid firebugs out in the Hinterland. Not all that pleasant really. I've heard rain is predicted for later in the day -- it better get here or else.
