Agreed. I've been through there several times a week for the last year-and-a-half, and only once or twice have I even seen anybody looking squirrely, let alone felt like it may come down to some kind of confrontation. Granted, I tend to be there early in the day, and feel it gets more crowded as the day progresses, and on weekends.
I second the suggestion to take an aggressive position, and be alert/aware of your surroundings. Not looking like an easy target is always a good idea. Though I do wonder just how threatening a guy in lycra can be.
