Not to get into a political argument, because I dont really care if you carry a gun but the bill of rights provides for citizens to keep and bear arms in a state militia. Your state has a militia, it's called the national gaurd, so please dont use the bill of rights as the reasoning behind why you should be able to carry a gun. The second amendment states:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Back when this was written, the militia was the people. There was no national guard.
All I know is that I don't advocate violence at all. But if it comes down to it, I pick myself and I'll use whatever tools I can to ensure that. Right now, it's a U-Lock. When I turn 21, it'll be a Browning Hi Power.
I think the OP did the right thing by riding on. The guy was a dick for punching him, but going back and burying a u-lock in his head really wouldn't really solve anything and just bring more cops and litigation. And trust me, the court system is a *****.
