I don't think that is a given. Most people haven't really thought about why they wear a helmet it is just an automatic thing they've been told to do and so they do it. If you take the time to talk to her and evaluate all the factors she may well come to a different conclusion. Particularly if the alternatives are don't ride or ride without a helmet.
