I got on a heavy hybrid in June 2006 to deal with a blood pressure problem. First time on a bike since childhood. Fell in love. Bought a Trek 1500 in Sept. '06. Rode over 6,000 miles in '07. I love it. Lost 30 lbs. Blood pressure much better and cholesterol dropped over 40 points from the riding alone. Rode 6 or 7 centuries last year. I'm big and slow but persistent. Ride 30 to 60 miles or more each time out. Just bought a 2007 Madone 5.5 SL at a steal off EBay. Learning more and trying new things with each ride. It has literally been a life saver for someone with a serious family history of heart problems, etc.
