I think a lot of it depends on how you feel riding your bike. I'm 5'9 and ride an 19" Kona Dew. Just after I started riding, I was having serious doubts, somewhat from what I was reading about sizing. Now, I absolutely love the bike and I find I can control it very much. It sounds like you are riding it fine now, without any problems.
