I'm using schwalbe marathon supreme's that were on the previous bike, and the rolling went from great to amazing. I've also found that it enables me to run the tire pressure a touch further before losing stability and inducing the "bounce" Overall, I'm very pleased with that decision.
On the braking front, I bought Santana's winzip commissioned tandem disc brake caliper since we have some very steep extended grades that we ride up AND down with kids and camping gear, so I wanted something that could take all kinds of heat load without issue. Nice to have that peace of mind when carrying two kids on the bike whilst bombing down steep mountain grades.
Hey, how do you transport your kids on the BD? I'd love to get my daughter interested in cycling before she becomes too used to the car.
