Well, I know that if I was offered something by a member (which has happened fairly often), and I respond with a PM, then I would assume that I have the first crack at the item.
But if I see another person later offering the same thing, I would probably not respond to them, because I would want another member to have a similar opportunity to obtain the desired item.
Or, I would respond to the second offer, but suggest that if anyone else had responded, to please allow the other member to have the first crack.
If I wind up with all the desired items, then no one else gets an opportunity to connect with another member, and so further broaden our community.
