There's no real shortage of oil, nor will there ever be (I say this as surely as someone says gas will be $7 a gallon in 4 years). We just need to re-assert our rights to it. The middle-eastern countries STOLE our mineral rights and infrastructure and our now selling it to us at a disgusting price. Everyone needs to wade through the muck of morally subjective, tread lightly B.S. and realize that Oil Companies are not evil. In a free economy they make money at your expense, just as much so as you make money at your employer's expense. The only thing not free as far as rights and decisions are concerned in this picture, is the oil companies being un-free to build refineries or conduct exploratory drilling. That and the government won't help them defend their property rights when another country like Venezuela steals it.
