Redmist, you are correct again. The newest generation of Transistion lenses (gen 6) do have less thermal dependance. They still get darker when cold and lighter when hot, but the magnitude of the difference is much reduced from previous versions ... but it still exists.

The not on inside cars is absolutely true, they will color very poorly inside automobiles. These are strictly my riding glasses and they work great (not perfect) but great for that.

Regarding the level of "gray", have you ever felt you needed to squint in bright sunlight ... no. Could they be darker to look cooler ... sure. Not perfect, but great IMO.

Many people make the mistake that they are the same as 2 sets of glasses, regular and sun. This is not true. They are on pair of "comfort" lenses, good in day, good in night.
