I seem to do OK with taxis. They are professional drivers, fairly predictable (agressive), and skilled. I expect them to cut me off. They expect me to split lanes and run lights which keeps me out of their way. It's been nearly 30 years since I had a yelling match with a cabbie and it was not even in the inner city.
In New Orleans, I am usually shocked when a cabbie does something really boneheaded. Can't say I remember any being extra nice either, although at 4-way stops I find if I get there first and a taxi second I am almost always granted right of way. I think many drivers know me from over the years too. They know I won't be slowing them down if they let me go first.
