Not really. He won the Cat 5 at SDSR last year (overall, RR and crit). This year he did a few crits with me (got 3rd at MLK) and DPB. Each year he does 3 or 4 road bike races.

He has requested his upgrade (to a 4 and even to a 3) several times and has been rejected. Apparently, they don't count 10 races total, just in a season. Even w/ good results, he does so few races they haven't moved him up. He told me yesterday that he was going to request it again after winning DPB...

If anybody has any ideas on helping him get approval I'll pass it along to him...
