I do think its a pity that it's not more available or more well known in the States as it's a great bike.
I test rode the Joey and Chameleon. I agree with the assessment. Moreover, achieving the proper gearing is easier with the "larger" wheels.
I always thought that a Joey built to fit both 24" wheels would be a great all around type of bike since you would increase the selection of tires. Of course, you would have two sets of wheels too.
