I have 2006 Allez, al frame, Tiagra rd (8 speed 12-25), Sora up front (triple), unbranded brakes, bb, hubs, etc, alemRimDA16 wheels, was £530 in 2006, bought for £400 new.

Compare to 2008 Tarmac Comp, 6r carbon frame, 105 gruppo (11-28 + 53/39) + Ultegra rd, shimano rs10 wheels + hubs, £1500 (probably wont get much off if anything).

Q: Tarmac is 3x pricier than my Allez. I know it's not 3x the bike, but how much better is it realistically? My rides are typically 1-1.5 hrs daily. Or is it better to spend £500 more for Tarmac Expert?

BTW to US BF'ers: dont bother doing a straight £:$ conversion, economics doesn't work that way. But... I suppose I could order a Tarmac from NY
