MOST places will tell you that these can't be fixed, probably because it is difficult and time-consuming, but replacement parts are available from Shimano. The mechanic at my LBS will repair damaged Shimano shifters.
I'm glad you can get parts. Shops I've been at could get the plastic base, hood, faceplate, external spring, and the main lever/shifter assembly. However, not any of the parts within the lever/shifter assembly individually.
