Good luck finding a frame these days that has down tube shifter bosses installed. Most new frames have cabel stops upt by the head tube but no real bosses designed to take shift levers. I have a touring frame that has them so I put down tube shifters on it. It made sense on my touring bike because there is a lot less to break out on tour with down tube shifters.
