I went through the same process as you did trying to decide on a headset. I decided against a CK due to it's finicky installation and price. Thought about going with a Ritchey WCS since I was going with WCS fork & stem and possibly crankset & bars. Even looked at the now discontinued American Classic Ultralight but couldn't find much on it. Missed the Crank Brothers in my search, but probably would have skipped it too because I have no interest in being a guinea pig to see if it works (brand new). Kept coming back to Cane Creek because they are all easy to install, are proven to work and I found an S6 at Nashbar for about $30. I prefer the angular appearance to a round headset. Plus I kinda like the lizard. As far as headsets go, it's very nice.

Personally, I'd obsess over something else.
