I would like to get your advice on what bike would best for me. I will be using it mainly for road and dirt track use – some rocks and stuff that will get in the way but no serious climbing or downhill runs will be done. I’m looking at around the £300 sort of mark. I’ve been looking at the Trek 4300 and GT avalanche bikes. If anyone knows where I can get these cheap that would of course be great. Mostly though I want a light bike that holds well when I push down on the pedals – I like to stay in high gear a lot and get some speed going! I’ve mostly just had everyday MTB’s before. Now I’m looking to get a little more serious and go on longer runs (for the day). Hardtails seem the way forward. Anyway – any ideas on what bike would fit the bill?
