Another musician here. My online handle, in fact, refers to the brand of trumpets I played in high school and college, and which I still play on rare occasions. BTW, trumpet geeks are bigger gearheads than bicyclists by a long shot, and today most "serious" trumpet players own half a dozen trumpets and are constantly in search of N+1 (I never owned more than 3 at a time).
Unfortunately, I no longer play seriously....I do listen to and collect music; always have.
My other hobbies over the years have been whatever my kids are up to at the time, which has included: hiking, downhill skiing, sea kayaking, and camping. Climbing Mt. Rainier is somewhere on my "to do" list but unless my son puts it on his "to do" list in the next few years I doubt I'll make it a priority on my own. As my son (the main outdoors enthusiast) is headed off to college this fall my non-biking interests will shift to my daughter's interest, which is her horse. I am not allowed to ride it but I am allowed to clean its stall.
