I didn't want to jump off topic so much.

I think it is unique that so many cities, who once had vibrant mass transit systems and then ripped them up, are now re-embracing the concept of improved bussing and rail. Even adopting bicycling and walking.

The best thing to do for our economy is to give the public a choice in transit. For a lower to middle income family/person, what is ultimately better: 8-9k a year for a car or 800-900 a year for a transit pass? Returning a large part of this country back to 1 car families would vastly improve our lot.
