Bikes: 2005 Specialized Sirrus Hybrid, Unpedigreed steel frame fixie conversion (Force Disorder Pump), Pugeot UO9 fixed conversion (Red Menace). Lots of parts scattered about garage.

Where are you (general area) departing from in T.O.?
Going along Lakeshore (Hiway 2) is nice but sometimes busy. It jogs towrds the lake at Erin Mills - you can stair-step down to it along Royal Windsor.
I'd suggest for the 'approach' to Hamilton you want to take Plains Road in Burlington (Fairview turns into it) across the High Level Bridge (runs parallel to the 403) onto York Blvd.

I keep meaning to do that ride me'self but its a 3-5 hour chunk of riding coming from Stoney Creek.
