go ahead and drift it without the cage. you may not like the way the mustang feels once you start getting it sideways and it would be a waste if you end up deciding you want to try out another platform after putting some money in it. if anything, put stiffer suspension. but start out stock at your 1st few events untl you start getting comfortable with it. if you start off with a bunch of mods it'll make it harder to learn. but yeah, go out there and have fun man. and be prepared to get addicted
