I needed some spacers to move both plates outward because my new chainring is much beefier than my old one. (Kinda hard to explain)

No need to explain: you provided pics! Looks like a 'beefy' ring.
The new frames on the site don't have that cool s tube...sucks!
I like the look of yours better. I have got a good idea on how to gusset my headtube from the ones on your bike.
