Maybe, but that isn't frying. Frying by definition is done in fat or oil. I am not knocking your method, but it is something other than frying.

BTW: I find soft boiling the easiest way to deal with breakfast eggs in camp. There is no dirty pan and the water can be used for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
