We have a big old Honda Odyssey (to haul around our many children), so every day that I commute saves about $4. The money isn't one of the top reasons that I ride, but it *does* feel nice to have $4 to send to someone other than OPEC.

While it is not an honest economic comparison, I will consider my bike paid for after I have commuted for 45 weeks.
