Lots of tough sports and no way really to compare them.....I'd say swimming can be rough because there is almost no joint wear and tear...OK shoulders after a while...which means you at complete liberty to destroy your CV system and muscles....2 hours in the AM and 2.5 hours in the PM...every day....

13 miles of swimming every day....
