Granted a really cold
winter (much less spring) in these parts only gets as low as 8°F (-13°C) but I can survive the winter weather by pulling the hood of my windbreaker over my helmeted head. If I wear a hat of any sort I end up sweating like I'm being interogated. I guess covering the vents of your helmet with either a helmet skin or tape, as the late great Sheldon did, could help quite a bit.
