Wouldn't do it.
However, I DID this last season, but I don't think it's the same.

I rode a solo 86 miles so that I could get to one of the stops of a century ride that I knew some guys from Illinois were in. I thought by chance maybe I would bump into some of them at this rest stop that was my turnaround point.

Well, when I got there they were long gone as it turned out. But I did stop there and refill my water bottles and grabbed a couple of their cookies and a rest before heading back home.
