The Traveler III was made in 1978 & 1979. See this link for the '79 and scroll back to the '78. There should be a four digit number stamped lightly into your headbadge. If the last number is an "8" you have a '78, and a "9" is a '79. Hope this helps.

Nice entry level bikes that last and last. I have an '80 model made in October '79 that I've own now for 28 years and it still is fun to ride. Welcome to C&V.
