Hi,

Im trying to get my old bike back in a working state so I can get back into biking

Its a Claud Butler that I originally got in about '95, its running an Acera X groupset (old hat back then I think) but im hoping that it will do me a few months, if im getting back into bikes then i'll buy a better bike.

I did have a GT Avalance that was top notch back in about '97 but I sold it when I got my first car

Currently having a few problems with the shifter for the crank, pretty much doesn't want to do anything other than shift up once then its dead ? I've stripped it, cleaned it and tried various ways of setting it up but still the same issue, only way I can get it to shift down is by pulling on the cable ?

Any idea what this could be? Should I just replace the shifters as a set of 7 speed shifters seem pretty cheap on ebay?
