Yeah, I wondered about that too, but all I had to do was move my foot rearward, with some force, but not excessive force, and the cleat would disengage, and my foot would slide out. All the time. I wondered if that was how they were built and were supposed to disengage.

If I used a strong "scraping" motion on the upstroke, my foot would often slip out.

If it was a matter of heel control, I was never able to get to the point where I could control it

No one else has had this issue?
