I'm wondering if my mobile phone (iPhone) somehow interferes with it? In my first ride with this new unit Wednesday, the phone was in a bag on the back. This time, it was in my jersey pocket not far from the strap. Anyone else experience this?
The easiest way to see if it was your phone is to turn the phone off, put on your strap, turn on your Edge. Be sure to do this clear of any Wifi networks and wireless home phones since you are having trouble.
If you are still having trouble go into the accessories screen on the Edge and tell it to re-acquire the HR strap.
If this does not work you may have a bum battery, it is a simple CR2032. The symptoms you described are very similar to what I have had happen when a battery gets low.
If none of this fixes it call Garmin and they will most likely send you a new strap for free.
