Any exercise regimen requires a body well stoked with energy and I can't see that happening with a reduced diet. I think the research shows that in most cases hard dieting fails to maintain desired results over time.
A calorie is a calorie...when we're talking about food, it's actually a kilocalorie, and it's the amount of energy necessary to raise the temperature of a kilogram of water by 1 degree Celsius. It is indeed better to get your calories from sources other than pop, because you also need the other dietary factors that those things supply, while the pop provides nothing
but calories. You have to work
very hard to lose weight by exercising. You're right about "hard dieting" though. What really works is moderate dieting and moderate exercising.
