Yep, sorry, it looks extremely difficult to attach these without mid-fork braze-ons, if not impossible. Anyway, I'm not sure this is such a good design for a loaded front. The one I have has an arm extending over the wheel, connecting the two rack pieces and adding more stability when loaded ie. less movement when turning a loaded front wheel. It has u-lock clamps that fit very snugly, and although I was initially hestitant about using a Blackburn rack for heavily loaded touring, it hasn't let me down yet, 1 1/2 years later...
