Done a few Trips in the UK in summer and rarely have to use a hotel. A bivy sheet works fine but normally used to find shelter in barns or shelters in the woods. One exceptional night was spent in a Farmers disused Stable and his daughters bought us breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was great- but the daughters weren't.
