That almost exactly describes my mom. She lives two blocks from an MUP which she could ride for about 2.5 miles and it would put her on the street about four blocks from her work. She actually could just walk the bike on the sidewalk for those four blocks if it makes her more comfortable than riding. That's the pitch I made to her; just do it two days a week and you won't have to use gas on those days. So does she do it? No way.
