"so have you done a ride on it yet, excluding the road test?"

I took it for a spin yesterday. Went about 9 miles. The chain jumped off about three times when I was shifting. Had to stop and place it back on track. Not sure why. It was popping off from the front. I'm still new to shifting this bike. I was told it has indexed gears. Which I'm assuming is the name for when the gears/shifting "things" are located on the frame instead of the handlebars. Yeah, I'm still learning what the names of all the parts are... isn't that sad?!

Anyways, shifting a bike like this is a new challenge to me because you can't just press your thumb while holding onto the handlebars. You actually have to let go of one. AND the brakes are on the lower part of the bars (also not accustomed to). When I pressed both into forward position, there seemed to be issues with it jumping track and popping off. Like it's having a hard time moving from big to small or small to big?

Today I went out and bought some Specialized All Condition Tires as was suggested and a new seat. I'm going to teach myself how to replace a tire today because I want to know how to fix my own bike.
I also adjusted the handle bars a little upward because I noticed on the ride that I felt as if I was hunching over too much.

Wish me luck on the tire change

Cheers!
